Persuasive conversations are rarely about facts and figures - emotion, engaging with others beginning with their experience and views and constructing a conversation with purpose. These are tools that all progressives can and should learn. This training has been based on research by the progressive Indigenous-controlled think tank, Passing the Message Stick, and adapted from training designed by Rachel Bos, the First Nations Trainer at the Australian Trade Union Institute. Our trainer, Matt English, has worked in and around education for over 15 years. A former Delegate, Organiser and Executive Member of the Independent Education Union-WA Branch. In 2023 he was awarded an Australian Fabians Diversity and Equity training place in our recent Leadership, Organising and Action course. He is the volunteer lead trainer for this module for the Yes23 campaign.
