Victoria made history in November 2025 by signing Australia’s first, First Nations Treaty. The Treaty establishes the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria, giving First Nations peoples a stronger voice in the policies that affect them, and launches a truth-telling process to support education, healing, and reconciliation.
Join us at 6:30 pm in the Blue Room, Multicultural Hub, Elizabeth Street, Melbourne for an engaging discussion and Q&A exploring what the Treaty means, how it works, and what we can expect it to achieve.
Uncle Rodney Carter is a prominent Dja Dja Wurrung Elder and elected Member of the First Peoples' Assembly of Victoria. As a key figure in the treaty process, he serves as Co-Chair of the Elders' Voice providing cultural authority and guidance to the Assembly.

A Yorta Yorta woman, she is the first Aboriginal Australian woman to represent the Australian Labor Party in the Parliament of Victoria. She has been a vocal advocate for Victoria’s Treaty process.
