The Victorian Fabians Annual Dinner fundraiser returns once again! Don't miss the biggest event of our annual calendar!
A Fabian’s tribute to Barry Jones AC, polymath, writer, teacher, lawyer, social activist, former ALP Minister and respected ALP elder. He became a household name as national quiz champion in the 1960’s and is recognised today by the National Trust as one of Australia’s living treasures.
Join us for a convivial dinner with fellow Fabians and to listen to Barry hold forth on the “Being honest with ourselves”, his reflections on what he sees as the pressing issues of our time. As well as talking about equality, a key Fabians principle, Barry will present his ideas on Australia's anachronistic Constitution, the dilemma of pursuing 'the vehicle or the destination' and the challenge of complexity - and getting out of Plato's Cave.
