Queensland Introduction to Organising Course - Australian Fabians

Queensland Introduction to Organising

Sunday - 12 January, 2025 - 02:00 PM

Offices of UWU - South Brisbane, Australia

Don't get angry, get skilled to get organised! The Queensland Branch of Australian Fabians is proud to offer this training based on the leadership framework developed by Harvard Prof Marshall Ganz (see here for an overview he provided at a recent Fabian event). His work is has drawn from decades of experience as a union, civil rights and party political campaigner and has been adapted by many progressive political parties, environmental groups and other civil society entities. This is high quality training directly based on his curricula, with pre-reading expected. The sessions will run on the afternoon of Sunday 12th January between 2:00 and 5:00 pm at the offices of the United Workers Union (Qld), 27 Peel St., South Brisbane.

This training is free, though a donation towards afternoon tea is invited from those who can afford to do so. The afternoon will include two core modules of the framework - one on public narrative for campaign organisers and the other on how to coach or mentor those who face campaign or leadership challenges. If you are interested to read more, the pre-course reading is here for the narrative for organisers and here for mentor/coaching for leadership challenges
