COVID19 has laid bare existing inequalities, and intensified others. Women have borne the brunt of a contracting labour market, as well as intensified their labour in caring for children. At the same time, violence against women has increased. Australian women despair that the Government even notices these dynamics, let alone has an appetite to solve them.  The times demand an active feminism. In this event, on Thursday 7th OctoberVan Badham and Jenny McAllister reflect on what’s required, and how a distinctively labour feminism offers some of our most important tools to respond. Jenny McAllister is Senator for New South Wales. Van Badham is a writer and social commentator. Her most recent book is Qanon & On
