Recently the SA Convenor for Australian Fabians resigned for personal reasons. This Special Meeting of members, which will also welcome interested supporters, is called to consider nominations for SA Convenor. Nominations are now open and may be submitted on or before noon Thursday 3rd April and lodged by email to philip.o'[email protected]. Our guest speaker will be Ms Steph Key on the importance of protecting work rights secured under the Albanese Labor Government. Ms Key served as a Labor MLA in the SA Parliament from 1997 to 2018 and from 2002 to 2005 was an minister, including in the portfolio's of child protection, employment, education. status of women and social justice among others. Prior to entering parliament she worked as a waitress, cook, cleaner and clerk, as well as a number of positions within the Transport Workers Union, the Australian Council of Trades Unions (ACTU) and the United Trades and Labor Council of South Australia (UTLC) as well as the Director of the Working Women's Centre and as a member of the South Australian Housing Trust's board of directors.
